The Silver Lining After Dufner's Disappointing Masters Performance

Whilst I wasn’t involved in our Masters’ Prediction article, (I’ve got my hands full covering all things Dufner) you know I was rooting for at least someone on the VPAR staff to pick my favorite underdog. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

So you can only imagine how pumped I was to see that Brentley Romine of GolfWeek took Jason as his sleeper pick. Coming off the back of Dufner’s CareerBuilder Challenge win, and being ranked 61st in the world at the time, Romine proposed that, “there could be some great value in Dufner for filling out fantasy-golf lineups.”

My enthusiasm was short lived as he missed the cut - and then as if rubbing salt in an open wound the Twitter hate came in.

But of course Jason responded in his typical style and Christian Hanna took the words right out of my mouth. #FairwellCarson

But not to worry, there have been some positives in his life since then.

In the second round of the 2016 RBC Heritage, Jason Dufner holed a 40-footer from off the green for birdie.

His beloved Auburn University is being represented as Mike Johnson was named to the USA’s Palmer Cup team.

And, he’s golfing with people who have just as much love for visors as he does.

Clearly I’m going to have to step up my visor game.
