Bouncing back is something that has been on Wiezy’s mind this month and not only because she played host to the 3rd annual “Wie Love Ping Pong” charity event, raising over $50,000 for her native Hawaii’s Junior Golf Association. Yes, the pun was intended.
Much more concerning is that she missed the cut at her hometown event, The LOTTE Championship. She has now gone 32 straight LPGA events without a top 10 finish, dating back to the 2014 season finale in Naples, Florida.
While this may be the best Pro-AM team photo ever taken, the golf that followed didn’t quite live up its greatness.
However in the world of professional golf, there is very little time to wallow in self-pity. It’s time to rebuild, which is exactly what she’s doing.
Her Instagram post below echoes the words of John Burroughs (I had to Google him too,) ‘I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put back in order’.
While back on her home island we were treated to a bunch of posts enjoying nature under the hashtag #luckywelivehawaii. With views like this one,
who can argue? It’s almost like you have no choice but to relax. So here’s to hoping she’s doing just that, and the time back home helped her mentally regroup.
And now a word from our sponsor, well, Wiezy’s sponsor actually…
We’ve been introduced to these.
The latest high-top shoe offering, exclusively designed for Wie.
So whether Wiezy breaks her top 10 drought this month or not, we champion her spirit and unrivalled style and suggest we all start realizing that we’re #luckytohavewie.
Oh and finally, have you ever wondered what Michelle Wie’s swing looks like in slow motion? Of course you have – so here it is.
