JT's US Open Performance Floral Patterns and more

After the flurry of excitement of #SB2K16, JT has let us catch our breath and stepped aside allowing other competitors to win golf tournaments. And while he hasn’t been winning any golf recently, he’s definitely been victorious in the wardrobe department. His outfits at the US Open were right on the money.

Hats off to Ralph Lauren.

Day one consisted of wonderfully accented reds, whites and blues. The pink trousers on Friday were excellent, but played second fiddle to Sunday’s floral pattern.

Now onto actual golf at Oakmont. Justin came a respectable, if unremarkable, T-32nd at the US Open. Three things caught my eye:

1. He was number two in driving distance for the week, and second only to Dustin ‘Shot-Tracer MVP’ Johnson. With guys like Bubba, Rory and Brooks in the field, that is a crazy statistic. Let’s all remember that our boy JT is only 5’10”.

2. JT was the number 1 in putting (average putts/hole) on the hardest greens that the Tour will putt on all year. With an average of 1.53, it was a very impressive performance. No doubt that his Dad and coach will be saying, “sort your irons out!”

3. Justin had back to back chip-in birdies on holes 7 and 8 of round two. First, a delightfully creative parachute shot off the fringe snuck in the side door, celebrity-style. Whereas, an excellent bunker shot resulted in a rare two on the absurdly long Par-3 8th.

Finally, JT crafted a really heartfelt message for papa Thomas Mike on Father’s Day. Not only is he a great father, but as a PGA Pro himself, an excellent teacher also. Long may this partnership continue as it just gives you a lovely warm feeling inside doesn’t it?

Until next time.
